This is a notebook and guide for learners of English as a second or overseas language, all over the earth. Most of the writings here are in Basic English, first designed by C. K. Ogden, using 850 necessary words and a number of international words only.

Miles Davis
Jazz was started by French-African Americans in New Orleans, and it was put to the frontline of music business by a white American named Benny Goodman.
When those early players became old, jazz was made into a serious art form by African-Americans in the north. The best of those serious men of music was Charlie Parker. When Parker made a start of his group, he [made] a young trumpet player take care of the group. The young man was Miles Davis. 2007.02.03 Saturday
Guitar: Writing about Music, in Basic
It's a Spanish instrument of music, with six-cords. (Sometimes there is a special guitar with eight or ten cords, but generally a guitar has six cords.) Though "guitar" was not listed by Ogden as a Basic word nor an international word, it's now frequently used in music business.
Is it possible to make use of "guitar" as an international word? I went over the Internet, and got the words for "guitar" in 13 different languages. 2009.12.23 Wednesday
