This is a notebook and guide for learners of English as a second or overseas language, all over the earth. Most of the writings here are in Basic English, first designed by C. K. Ogden, using 850 necessary words and a number of international words only.

The Violin Connection 2
How do I put strings in Basic?

I got a key to the answer
from French men of music.
Printed music by Frenchmen
like Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel
have some words in French.
So I had some chances for
learning some French words for music.

How do they put
stringed instrument
into French?

Answer:
"Instrument de corde."

Corde?
That French word has the English relation,
with the same sense,
on the Basic word list:
cord.

So the violin and their family relations,
in Basic English, will be
"corded instrument."
