This is a notebook and guide for learners of English as a second or overseas language, all over the earth. Most of the writings here are in Basic English, first designed by C. K. Ogden, using 850 necessary words and a number of international words only.

Miles Davis
Jazz was started by French-African Americans in New Orleans, and it was put to the frontline of music business by a white American named Benny Goodman.
When those early players became old, jazz was made into a serious art form by African-Americans in the north. The best of those serious men of music was Charlie Parker. When Parker made a start of his group, he [made] a young trumpet player take care of the group. The young man was Miles Davis. 2006.09.21 Thursday
New English through Pictures 1
English through Pictures Book I, by I. A. Richards and Christine Gibson at Harvard University, was first made public in 1945. It had some changes and additions, and became a longer book in 1973 by an American book company. And in 1975, it was made public by a Japanese company. After that, it has been kept in print till now. This summer, however, the book was printed again with small changes. 2006.09.08 Friday
