This is a notebook and guide for learners of English as a second or overseas language, all over the earth. Most of the writings here are in Basic English, first designed by C. K. Ogden, using 850 necessary words and a number of international words only.

A Story Using the Basic Words Starting with "U"
There are only five Basic words
starting with the letter U. "Unit" may be used in different forms like "uniter," "uniting," and "united." I won't make use of "uniter" and "uniting," because they are not in general use. Here goes the story: 2007.02.09 Friday
A J-Story
I made up a story using all the Basic words starting with the letter "A."
I had a hope to keep on writing a story with the B-words, the C-words, the D-words, and so on. But quickly I came to see that it was very hard, so I have made up my mind to do it from the ones with a smaller number of words, like the words starting with J, K, or Y. So here is my story using all the Basic words starting with "J." 2007.02.03 Saturday
Guitar: Writing about Music, in Basic
It's a Spanish instrument of music, with six-cords. (Sometimes there is a special guitar with eight or ten cords, but generally a guitar has six cords.) Though "guitar" was not listed by Ogden as a Basic word nor an international word, it's now frequently used in music business.
Is it possible to make use of "guitar" as an international word? I went over the Internet, and got the words for "guitar" in 13 different languages. |
