This is a notebook and guide for learners of English as a second or overseas language, all over the earth. Most of the writings here are in Basic English, first designed by C. K. Ogden, using 850 necessary words and a number of international words only.

Picture Signs for Feelings
This daybook system has a selection of small pictures to be used like letters or words. They may be a great to help for the Japanese writing in English. Signs for the feelings which come out on our faces, for example, are like this:

Words Are Soft
Some of my Japanese friends say that language is an instrument. They may be right. We make use of language as an instrument for doing everyday things. One thing I'm hoping to make clear is that this instrument is a bit different from hard instruments like pencils, knives, tables, or automobiles. It's a soft instrument. |
