This is a notebook and guide for learners of English as a second or overseas language, all over the earth. Most of the writings here are in Basic English, first designed by C. K. Ogden, using 850 necessary words and a number of international words only.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 18:50  My son, my woman and I are on the JR Joban line going down south. We are to be in Ibaraki for a number of days together, with our relations.
  • 21:54  We are Watching 'Ryoma Den' on TV. Ryoma was not a man in fiction. He was a very important guide for Japan at the end of "samurai" years.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 18:41  RT @acha758: it's fun to read books, ro find good books, to look for new books, to talk with people on books♪
  • 21:13  I was wrong. My new apparatus is iPhone 4, not iPhone 3GS. Though it's a bit thicker, it's solid and quick. The camera is specially better.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 18:22  I've got a new iPhone at the nearby Softbank branch. It's an iPhone 3GS. Moving music from the old one to the new one takes hours and hours.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 12:46  It's Christmas Day. It's cold, gray and quiet outside. My son and dear woman are healthy and all right again. I'm still reading 'Jane Eyre.'
  • 14:16  A word is dead / When it is said, / Some say. // I say it just / Begins to live / That day. By Emily Dickinson

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 17:35  At long last, winter is here. It was very cold throughout the day, and still is. And my son and my dear woman are not well. They are in bed!

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 09:45  @savana3 "Christmas Present" is something different, like "Christmas Now." There are "Christmas Past" and "Christmas Future" as well.  [in reply to savana3]
  • 11:53  I'm back in reading 'Jane Eyre.' I'm not reading very happily because I have some knowledge of the trick: the secret of Rochester's house.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 08:08  Good morning. Though it's 8:05, it's still dark, probably because of the cloud over town. Or is it because of the shortest day of the year?
  • 13:18  RT @yokoono: Stop wasting your time looking for an answer outside of you.
  • 15:37  The cloud has become thinner; the sky brighter. The wind and the rain have come to an end. The air on the other hand has become much colder.
  • 19:08  I went to Sendai to get back my old white NacBook. It's fixed all right. Now I'm on the train going back to Fukushima but it's getting late.
  • 19:11  @ayamjhwayam I have no knowledge of your language. I don't get it, with regret.  [in reply to ayamjhwayam]
  • 21:57  I'm changing the operation system of my white MacBook from Mac OS X Tiger, or 10.4, to Snow Leopard, or 10.6. It may take about 44 minutes.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 12:30  'The World Is Round' is a book of prose fiction for young readers, by Gertrude Stein. I have made an old paperback of the story into a PDF.
  • 13:52  RT @yokoono: Is that fair? Yes. It is. Because we are blind, too. The blind leading the blind, as they say. We are all blind.
  • 21:32  Our part of Japan has been covered for hours with thick cloud. No moon is seen tonight, nor the shade of the earth on it. No special event.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 15:00  Though it was cold in early morning, now it is getting warm, as if we were in spring. The sky is blue. The air is clear. The sun is bright.
  • 18:59  Tonight is the 15th, the very middle point of the month in old Chinese calendar. The full moon is white and round, in the black winter sky.
  • 19:19  'Christmas' by the Singers Unlimited is one of the oldest CDs I have been keeping. I got it in 1983. Before that, I had it as an LP record.
  • 20:58  I said that tonight was the 15th in the old calendar. My woman, however, says that it's still the 14th. Her word is based on the newspaper.

My Twitter Notes from Yesterday
  • 17:22  The beautiful, silver moon is watching over us, in the cold night sky. It's like Annabel Lee. The quiet weekend is slowly coming to and end.
  • 22:40  There's a story that the swan, the beautiful white bird, gives a cry only before its death. We're certain, however, that the story is false.
  • 22:43  Because we are now hearing voices of swans, in fact, crying. They come from Siberia to Japan every winter. Some of them are in our town.
